Hop on the Métro
The apartment is right
between two métro stops,
about a two minute walk in
either direction. Walk toward
Place Pigalle and pick up
Métro
Line 12 or Métro Line 2. The
12 line
heads north to
romantic Montmartre or south
to the chic seventh
arrondissement.
The 2 line
curves toward the Champs
Élysees in one direction, and in
the other, drops you at the
foot of Père Lachaise
cemetery. And don't forget,
you can also turn left out of
the apartment and head to
Place Blanche where you can
also pick up
Métro Line 13.

Don't Miss the Bus
At Place Pigalle, you can pick
up the
67 bus, the
Montmartre bus
and the 30
bus
. The 67 is a scenic line
heading south into the 1st
arrondissement before cutting
through the Île de la Cité, but
not before taking you right
past the Louvre. The

Montmartre bus
is perfect for
tourists, navigating the tiny
streets of Montmartre. The
30
bus
makes East-West travel
easy. It runs west along Parc
de Monceau and through the
trendy Batignolles before
stopping at the edge of the
Arc de Triomphe. A bit farther
south, the 30 takes you to
Trocadero near the Eiffel
Tower. Day trips outside of
Paris are breeze because this
line also takes you to Gare de l’
Est and Gare du Nord.

Meet the Owners
Couple Mary & Nick, London-
based film editors, joined
forces with Mary's brother Ian,
a software engineer, to
purchase this romantic flat
about five years ago. Their
collective energy and creativity
shines through in the stylish,
colorful apartment decor. It's
immediately evident that this
hip trio have put their hearts
into this apartment, making it
a magical home for travelers.
14 rue Fromentin
With breathtaking views of
Sacre Coeur cathedral from
the living room and bedroom
windows, this lovely
fourth-floor apartment rises
high above the city and
reminds guests why they
booked a trip to Paris in the
first place. Besides being
comfortable and plenty big for
four people, this apartment
offers a versatile home for
travelers. Shut the
double-glazed windows and
read a book near the fireplace
in the open concept living
room. Or pull open the
windows and people watch
with a glass of wine, gazing
down at the lively boulevard or
up the Montmartre hill and feel
part of its famous village
atmosphere. The apartment
itself features a master
bedroom and sofabed,
creating plenty of sleeping
space for couples or families.
For the traveling chef, a full
kitchen with gas stove means
a quick trip to the grocery
store a short walk away is all
that's needed for a gourmet
meal just like you would make
at home. The owner not only
decorated this apartment in
lovely Frenchy style, but she
included everything busy
travelers expect - cable
television, telephone, DVD
player and wireless Internet
access.

In the Neighborhood
In any direction, this
neighborhood offers a wide
range of choices for tourists. A
new landscape and
construction project created
a
tree-lined, pedestrian
median
just below this flat
along Boulevard de Clichy. The
median is so spacious, you'll
find parents and kids having a
snack on the park benches, or
playing a little soccer. It makes
walking safe and comfortable
on this very lively boulevard.
The new median also includes
a bike trail for those who enjoy
a little exercise while on
vacation.
If you're a "foodie," you'll
have several choices: Head
north up rue Lepic and stock
up on fresh food on this
charming street made famous
by the movie "Amelie," or head
east a few blocks and you'll be
at the top of rue des Martyrs,
a fabulous shopping street
described in a 2005
New York
Times
article as "a slice of
village life" that will "satisfy
that perennial desire for
discovery." Let your taste
buds lead the way and find
your neighborhood favorites!
Don't forget Montmartre,
which is just steps from your
front door. Cross the
boulevard and walk up rue
Houdon -- it dead-ends at rue
des Abbesses, where you'll
find yourself in the heart of
Montmartre, with outdoor
cafes, shops and the tiny,
winding streets that makes
this neighborhood such a
delight.
